Thrill Ride part 2

Q:"I looked over at him. He was still sitting there, elbows on his knees, his ice cream melting. He didn't look like a guy who was trying to cheat on his girlfriend. I guess its true what they say. Looks can be deceiving

C: I felt sorry for the main male character(Parker) in this scene because Megan was assuming and accusing all this things about Parker and it was very far from the truth.

Q: Have you ever been deceived by a persons 'look'? What about a vice versa situation? If one day you looked 'mad' and your friend got mad because she thought you were mad at her? (at these times communication is needed)

--

Q:"Its entertainment. Its fun, exciting, thrilling. Its an experience. For sixty seconds, people aren't thinking about work or worries.

C: Like I said before, this is exactly how I feel when I'm on a roller coaster. Roller Coasters are good stress relievers if you want to get away from it all...

Q: How can people not like roller coasters? Is it because their scared, or they really just have no interest in it?
--

Q:"Its easier to start over than to work to make something last."

C:In 12 short&simple words. every person can understand why people break up. And, why in the end, only the strong last.

Q: What is the point of a relationship if you can't give that other person your 110%? ( and that includes all relationships; Your family, Your friends, Your boyfriend/Girlfriends, and pets too)

Thrill ride

Q:"I totally don't get what it so great about the whole queasy-stomach, heart-in-throat, up and down, faster, faster, higher, higher, experience"

C: Personally, I love roller coasters, the great thing about them, well to me, is the feeling it gives you. It puts you through a thrill that makes you feel free. Like you can fly because of how high your up. Or like you just climbed Mount Everest (Okay not really, that was exaggerated but you get my gist)

Q: Have you every felt how I feel because of riding a roller coaster? What other things make you feel that way?

--

Q:"Be upfront, be honest, be yourself. Basically, be who you are suppose to be."

C: I like this quote because no one wants to hang out with a fake person all day, its really easy to tell if your trying to be someone your not. And, in the end the truth will somehow come out. So save yourself the trouble the first time around.

Q: Why do people have to act 'fake' around certain people? is because there threatened or scared they wont be liked?

--

Q:" We don't fight, we just don't ever Agree

C: Aha, the first time I read this I automatically thought about how me & my sister argue 24/7 and my parent's get so annyoed of it. I think arguements make conversations more interesting

Q: Has anyone ever spent there whole life without fighting, or having an arguement?

reading blogs

I've been lagging it on these really badly.

these are from the book called "Jeremy Fink and the meaning of life"

*note; You can go crazy trying to come up with the meaning of life..

reading blog 1)

Q: " Jeremy Fink and the meaning of life"
C: Okay this isn't really a quote in the book, its the title of this book, basically this book is about Jeremy getting a package from his dead dad about a month before his birthday and its a box with the meaning of life in it, unfortunately the person that was holding that package lost the keys to open it so Jeremy is going crazy trying to fidn the keys and if he cacn't find them he tries to think up what is inside of it himself.
Q: What is the meaning of life? Is it possible to fit it all inside of a small box? Will Jeremy ever fins the keys to open his box?

Reading blog 2)

Q : " 8. Some choice are forever "
C : At the beginning of this book I never thought it could be very interesting and it wasn't until the week of the cst's when I got around to the hundredth page that it did. I even had to hold some laughter in at some points. Anyways, I chose this quote because of its simplicity but its boldness, if that makes sense? After writing this in his journal Jeremy then begins to think on how one simple thing can cause a chain of events and in the end there could be a big catastrophe
Q : Are choices really forever? In time can choices be undone? Do people really think about the choice they make? Can a simple choice of drinking milk in the morning affect the reast of your life?

Reading blog 3)

Q : " 10. Just because people aren't in our lives anymore, doesn't mean they stop thinking about us and vice versa"
C : I believe this quote completely, from kindergarten to second grade I had the time of my life with my bestfriends there were five of us including me, it was DeeDee ClrClr MyMy KiKi and Charlene (I don't think she got a nickname) aha, but anyways in second grade we all went seperate ways I moved and recently I just got back in contact with Charlene it was funny how much we remembered of the good old days which seemed so long ago, I was so happy getting to talk to her again and that she remembered me.
Q : Have you been in this type of situations? Do you hold your memories close yo your heart like I do ?

I shall continue tomorrow, its getting late. goodnight :)

reading blog 17

"If you want the stick back that bad, YOU jump in the water for it"

So still reading Marley & Me and this quote stuck out to me because it not only applies to dogs it can apply to everyone. Well, different circumstances of course but you know what I’m talking about. I like this quote because I know that most of the time I don't like speaking for myself, and my sister gets really mad at me for it so all I hear is "jeez Mariah, speak for yourself for once" but sometimes if I really need something I actually get it for myself basically. But can't there sometimes be difficulties to that? What if you really want something but it’s like halfway across the ocean? For example My friend 'accidently' broke one of my bracelets that my uncle got me from Japan and I really loved that bracelet but I simply can't get a new one because first of all like my parents would let me and how in the world would I get the money for it? Okay well yeah get a job or just go to a local oriental store, but I don't know I like making things difficult I guess? I want one just like my last one, anything else simply just can't do. Kind of went off topic, bleh, so sue me (:

What is media?

when i was younger I used to think media was just T.V, Internet, music, movies, and newspapers. and its true i think we are all so blinded by the media that we don't see it anymore. I learned that media is influential, and it can endorse things, media is everywhere and it can change our lives, how? well if there was no media for instance we wouldn't of got the news so fast or if we see a person that has a certain logo printed on it you feel as if you had to get one too to "go with the crowd" media could be good or it could be bad but in the end it will never go away because we rely to heavily on it.

09readingblog

So current book i'm reading is called Marley and Me, still at the beginningish and pretty much what i can relate from the book right now is the first time the author describes Marley I imagine Marley looking so much like my new dog Buttercup. From the clumsyness to the sharp teeth. Also the way Marley has tiny legs and huge paws. This book is definitly a book for dog lovers.

roller coasters (:

for Bianca who told me to post it on here. [:

Dating guys are like riding in an emotional roller coaster. Right before you get asked, you stand and wait in line behind any other regular person wanting to ride too. Finally, I’m at the front of the line, question time, am I ready? Of course! So I climb on, “This is going to be a crazy ride,” people try to warn me, but of course no one ever listen to the wise ones do they? “Bleep,” the horn blares and I’m off. I feel butterflies beginning to flutter in my stomach as I’m lifted higher and higher, as I’m pulled to a stop I take the time to breathe in the fresh the morning air, MMM, smells like strawberries, I’m thinking. But the sudden drop brings me back to my senses, I’m experiencing my first fight, at first I’m a little scared and confused, but that quickly changes as I regain composure and try to set things right. The roller coaster twist and turns then I’m brought to a loopty loop and everything is set right again. I smile at the thought everything is going to be all right not noticing that the ride is increasing speed and gaining height really fast. I see the deep plunge ahead of me and panic I close my eyes and hold on to the handle bars really tight. Five second later my eyes are open and people are instructing me to get up and turn to my left. In the end I made a promise to myself that I’m sticking to carousels.

*FYI!: This was assigned to me in 8Th grade when we had to write analogy's an anything that came to mind including our senses of smells & alliterations.
I don't know, think what you want. Don't be to harsh.

seven colors of the rainbow

Roy G Biv also known as the rainbow [ Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet ] Pretty colors huh? What a lot of people don't know though is that these unique colors are energy levels that the solar panels we use convert them into sources that is very beneficial to us.

the good life?

"The truth is we know nothing, not where our cars will fail or when our buses will stall, whether our places of employment will be there when we arrive, or wether in fact, we ourselves will arive whole and alive at the end of our journeys. Life is pure adventure, and the sooner we realize that. the quicker we will be able to treat life as art: to bring all our energies to each encounter, to remain flexible enough to notice and admit when what we expect to happen did not happen. We need to remember that we are created creative and can invent new scenarios as frequently as they are needed"
-Maya Angelou

Okay, so that quote is really long, but it i liked it because she talks about how people live there life expecting, when in life you can't really expect anything because no one can tell the future, the future is something untold about and uncalled for.

iRead #9(:

"People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone"
-People are strange ; Doors.
Okay so WOW, I finally read TWILIGHT [Thank you Bianca for letting me borrow it! :)] . I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about this book. Okay so at first i didn't get how good it was, I thought the beginning was a little boring, but I kept reading and i soon figured it out. I liked this book so much I read it in two days! D: I've made many comparisons but I know I've forgotten most of them because I never stopped to write them down. One thing i remember though is the part in the beginning-ish after she gets hit by the truck, When she was leaving the hospital, in the waiting room was all these people waiting for her and that kind of reminded me of Arielle [ sorry for spotlighting you ] after her accident mostly everyone surrounded her. Also in the back was the sneak peek to New Moon, I can't wait to read that, they left it on a cliff hanger and I'm anxious to find out what happens. Even though i heard someone say they broke up or something? hm, even better, I can't wait till the movie comes out! *hint* lets plan to go see it together! :]*hint*
eeer, I hope the movie does the book justice, I'd hate it if the movie killed it.

--

So I'm almost finished with go ask Alice [finally]
and i just wanted to interrupt my reading just to say that it really bugs me when she says she going to quit doing drugs for good and then like a month later she starts again. alot of people told me this was a sad book but right now i have no feeling of sympathy towards her. Oh & i like this quote!

"It's a good thing most people bleed on the inside or this would be a gory, blood-smeared Earth"
I hoped you like that quote because i just spent like 5 minutes trying to look for it again, haha.

iRead part 6.

WHAT?! no smiley face in the title? 0.O

haha, random. okay so yeah i didn't really read that much so lets start off with something different :D Like how on Friday, was the community meet/ blue ribbon ceremony.

It was so sad :/ my friends were all saying how this was suppose to be a welcome/ happy thing & we all come out crying. haha, well i didn't really cry, i tried my hardest not to all the stories were so sad :\ Oh then after that my momma picked me up during lunch for my eye appointment, i am very disappointed in the person that i was suppose to go see for my contacts because now i can't get them until Tuesday. I was really looking forward to them, yes i can be very impatient :D so yeah, I'm going to miss part of the beginning of school on Tuesday.

so that was Friday, i can say Saturday was so much Funn-er ! I went to a fil-am fest with my cousins it was cool, i saw a lot of friends i didn't expect to see, i bought a banana shirt its very cool ;] then after went to cousins house & hung out with her friends because they came.

Yeah don't really want to talk about today though, it was just tiring. Oh i was messing around with GIMP > its like a free photoshop but the quality can't compare to photoshop. Look what I did :D You can click to make it bigger :] its not that great but i was bored & don't mind all the colorful bags & backpacks & teddybear in the backround ^.^(:

Hmmm, so This week i read a little bit of the begining of, go ask alice and the author is Anonymous. What i really liked about the begining of this book is this :

"Sometimes I think we're all trying to be shadows of eachother, trying to buy the same records and everything even if we don't like them."

I liked that part because I think it is SO true, even sometimes if you don't mean to be a shadow you still are.

iRead part 5 :0

Yay, so I think I'm going to use my iRead blogs to tell how many weeks of school has gone by, good idea huh? :]

anyways, I think I have started a tradition for Fridays! it is to hangout with a couple of friends till like 5? well until 5 if there HTH friends, if there friends from a different school and they live by me its longer but anyways then when I go home I will read till midnight ?D: then usually I stop myself and then read the last part of the book the next morning.

So, I have finished the book Tan Lines by Katherine Applegate. I like this book a lot because i thought i could really relate to it. Well actually it's related in a different circumstances.. if that makes sense? Anyway, I thought i could relate to it because in a lot of the book it talks about how she is planning to go to the University of Wisconsin because everyone one is expecting her to go there, especially her Boyfriend/Fiance Seth, even though she got into this really prestigious university that's called Carlson. But then this guy named Austin comes into the picture and basically tells her that she is only going to UW because hey want her to go there and she needs to go where SHE wants to go and to make herself happy. Well I thought I could relate to that because In the sixth grade was the first time I heard about High Tech, and I though it would of been cool to go there for Middle school, but I didn't really go for it so it never happened, then in 8Th grade some how it got brought up again and my parents weren't really up for it but I asked if I could apply for it just to see what happens, and look where I am now? haha. Yeah, that was a really bad comparison, but i skipped the part where I told my friends I got chosen and they got all sad, me I was kind of happy, you know new starts are kind of fun? haha. Well this is SUPPPPPPER loooooong so I think I'm going to end it here, bye now :]

iRead #4 D:

Hi (: I'm making banana bread right now so I'll finish this later. haha.

Updated* Okay so I never came back and finished this last night :x it got very late & I got very tired. haha. anyways....

So last week I finished the book my very kind and gracious grandma got me which was Two Way Street so I had no other book pretty much unless i wanted to reread a book from my mini collection, but Sunday after church my cousins and sister and mom and auntie and me went to the mall and I decided I should use my money to get a book. :]

So i wanted a book that would take me a while to read but i also needed it to be cheapish, i got the book Tan Lines by Katherine Applegate. I haven't read that much so far, but what i really envy about the character is that she has a little summer get away house which is really cool. I think i need to read more though before i say anything else.

iRead part 3(:

Hi again! lala, so I'm hyper right now so sorry if i babble. I'm hyper probably because I'm talking to my friend her nickname is SPORK! and I'm her PENGUIN :] haha. I love her & i miss her :/ so yeah were planning out our next hang out day so yes I'm looking forward to that next week! :D

Any ways, so i was like reading my weekend away this weekend. Yeah, i had nothing to do so Friday night I read because i didn't go out, and I finished like the last three pages I had in breaking through, i can honestly say i don't really read books like that but i guess it didn't hurt that I read it. I was kind of disappointed how it ended so suddenly but its all good. :]

After i finished those three pages i went on to the other book i was reading two way street yeah I spent some Friday night and a little bit of Saturday morning finishing it. My sister was laughing at me while i was reading it though, because when I was reading it i got hungry so i made some food & i somehow managed to read, listen to music, and eat all at the same time, but i was tuned out to everything else besides those three things. Okay so in the book it has a HUGE twist in it, you should read it to find out what I'm talking about. I found this book interesting & those type of books you just can't put down, but its those type of books that are usually read by teen girls that don't like reality so enjoy reading about cliched relationships.

BTW* i just felt like saying yes you can tell if i really like the book I'm reading because my facial expression changes as a reaction to what I'm thinking is happening in the scene. My friends like watching me read then they tell me what i do after reading time is over. But that was in middle school. okay ending randomness now. goodbye :]

ooh yes and sorry if i jump around in what im talking about in this post. :D

Where i'm from

I am from computers,

from Starbucks and Wal-mart.

I am from breezy palm trees.

Tall, Green, and Swaying freely.

I am from the magnolia tree, the rose, there vivid images and fragrant smells blew me away.

I am from home cooked meals passed down from generation to generation and poor eyesight.

From the womb of Eugenia and Todd Portley.

I'm from loud burps and silent prayers.

From sit still and be respectful.

I'm from a catholic family.

I'm from the big SD but i have family across the oceans,

steak and sinagong.

From the time my mom spilled hot water on herself going down the stairs

to the time she fell down mopping the kitchen floor.

Under the lamp in the living room, the pictures i wish that wouldn't come out when close friends come over.

the memories of the past the i relive over and over while looking at those pictures.

I am me, simple yet complicated.

yuck . i am horrible i don't like it 8]

iRead part 2(:

so much for posting the pictures, I took alot I'm just going to put everything in a video if I'm not lazy, if i do I'll be sure to post it up :D

Okay, so, update* i am now on chapter 17 in the book Breaking Through. I liked the chapter Making Connections because, well that's pretty much what I'm doing right now is making connections. Because, I am so used to writing about the story that when it comes to making connections I suck. haha.

I also like the ending of chapter 16. In the chapter Los Santitos, I liked how they collected food to give to those who need it. When I was in elementary we always had those especially when holidays were near, we would compete to see who got the most, my class would get to competitive.

One more thing, in the chapter Choosing Sides, it talks about the candidates for the presidents and it reminds me of whats going on right now with Obama and McCain. I also agree with Francisco's father when he called people ignorant, I don't like how people in the world these days base everything on looks.
